Thank you for taking the time to read over my bio. My name is Nate Decker and I am a 3rd generation artist in my family.I work with a variety of mediums with focus on photography and wood carving. My love for wood started by watching my grandfather build intricate wood furnishings as a kid and later I built houses until moving out of my native state of California. In my early 20’s I started shooting for fun with a 1920’s film Nikon camera and haven’t put down a camera since. I studied photography in San Diego and 12 years ago I moved to Phoenix where photography became my career. I work to document life and over the years mine has placed my inspiration in front of me and captured my mind time and time again.5 years ago I started a woodworking project I fell in love with wood all over again. Having my tools out again led me to the carvings. I started with a set of Angels wings for a gift for my wife and now my love for Angels and wings inspire me everyday. I have an eclectic way of presenting my work and I display it at my studio in Anthem AZ.The materials are the limit, if I can figure how it can be done I will be immersed until I finish. The latest set of wings I carved from a mesquite slab 10 foot span by 3 foot and I completed this set in 7 days. I have created 5 sets of hand carved wood angle wings with life cast angels bodies. I have 2 sets of carved wings finished and on display for sale. I have another dozen finished wood workings and wall hangings and printed photography. Please take a look at my work and thank you.
